This web site is devoted to the scientific activity of noted linguist Aleksas Girdenis, professor, habil. doctor, head of the Department of General Linguistics at Vilnius University, corresponding member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
The centre of attention is the bibliography compiled in 1987 and later (in 1994 and 1997) revised and published. This bibliography is based on the second edition, only works published after October 1997 have been added.
The bibliography is supplemented by a number of articles – for technical reasons, in the meanwhile, only articles on the planning and culture of standard language have been presented. Later the web site is to include works in “pure” linguistics and, if need be, it may include a section similar to section “Klausimų kraitelė” (lit. Question Basket) of the journal “Gimtoji kalba” (Native Language).
